FORGIVENESS LAB  is a transformative workshop that explores the science and spirituality of forgiveness in an engaging and meaningful way. 

The experience led by Dr. Lisa Kohut and Shelly Lawler is designed for schools, universities, businesses and groups. 


It blends faith based principles with insights from neuroscience and 

Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) to help participants harness the power of forgiveness for personal and group wellness. Participants will learn how to release resentment and practice forgiveness through interactive activities,  practical exercises and experiential encounters.

 

The results lead to improved individual mental health, improved school climates, team dynamics and workplace productivity. 

 

Individuals will walk away with the following foundational life skills:


  • Practical keys to quickly reduce stress
  • Enhanced conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to quickly restore peace by learning to let go of grudges and resentments 
  •  Enhanced empathy and compassion for self and others


FORGIVENESS LAB can be considered a behavioral, mental and or emotional intervention.

 A concise half day session and a comprehensive full day session. 

Formats are Christ-Centered, balancing spiritual wisdom with evidence based techniques.


Optional pre and post session stress assessments so you can see measurable impact.

  • Welcome and Warm-up: Introductions, Ice breakers, and mindful reflections to set a positive tone. 
  • Foundations of Forgiveness Talk- Interactive interview and discussion on the truths and myths of forgiveness and unforgiveness and how it impacts the body, soul and spirit.  We use faith based wisdom to address spirituality,  neuroscience and soul care. 
  • Group Discussion- Participants interact in a safe atmosphere about their experiences during the encounter
  • Forgiveness Encounter
  • Debrief & Takeaways- Group debrief of insights.

  • Welcome and Opening Activity: Energizing ice-breaker and intention-setting for the day. Outline of the day’s agenda. Learning to practice self reflection.
  • Session 1- The Power of Forgiveness: In depth teaching session on forgiveness from multiple angles- faith teachings, neuroscience research, and real life stories. How holding grudges impacts stress, health, and relationships, and how forgiveness brings freedom. Interactive Q&A encouraged
  • Session 2 - Tools and Techniques- Demonstration of tools such as coherent breathing exercises and NLP based reframing to help shift perspective.
    Forgiveness Encounter…
  • Lunch Break (30-60 minutes)- Time for rest, networking, or personal reflection. 
  • Session 3 - Interactive Lab: Hands on group activities to apply forgiveness principles. Small groups might role play scenarios (e.g. resolving a conflict and practicing validation exercises).
  • Session 4- Personal Reflection: Quiet time for journaling or prayer, allowing participants to process emotions. Prompts are provided.
  • Closing - Action Plan & Blessing: Reconvene to discuss insights. Each participant is guided to develop a simple action plan to continue practicing forgiveness beyond the workshop (for example, a commitment to a daily reflection or an accountability partner).

Shelly Lawler - Chaplain, Coach, Artist and Author.  Shelly is a certified Chaplain, a mental health coach and an award winning artist, her work hangs in homes, hospitals and business's. 

She brings a unique, creative and spiritual touch to healing. She has a rich background in communication, on television and as a voiceover artist. 

She has traveled around the globe as an international presenter and trainer working for multinational companies.

All of this makes Shelly a powerful facilitator of healing and a team player. Shelly’s unique combination of artistic talent, corporate experience, and spiritual care equips her to connect with diverse audiences in creative ways. She leads with deep compassion and creativity, helping individuals and audiences access and embrace new perspectives. Her strategic, gentle approach makes everyone feel inspired and included.

Dr. Lisa Kohut, LCPC & EMDR Certified, is a faith-based therapist, coach, and visionary author with over 20 years of experience. She creatively bridges neuroscience, psychology, and Biblical truth and is known for her close friendship with the Holy Spirit.  Dr. Lisa has pioneered innovative systems that merge faith with mental health, helping countless individuals find healing and freedom.
